Michael's Journey

Michael Logan Loness was born on April 18, 2016 and was immediately rushed to SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri for kidney related issues. There he was diagnosed with hypo-plastic (severely underdevelped) kidney disease. Michael was also born with a colorectal abnormality.  He had a colostomy placed at 2 days old and over a period of 6 months has underwent a series of surgeries to correct his bowel.  His colostomy reversal was done in July 2017 when he was 15 months old.

Michael is currently living at his home in Pevely, Missouri after 115 days at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. His doctors there have recommended a kidney transplant that will save Michael’s life.  To this day, Michael has had 11 surgeries and several hospitalizations from those surgeries.  On August 28, 2017 (Michael's daddy's birthday) he was officially placed on the Transplant List.  Michael can receive an adult living donor and there are a handful of individuals that are in the process of being tested to see if they are a match.

Our family has partnered with COTA to help raise money for transplant-related expenses, which have been estimated to be over $50,000.

When you donate to COTA in honor of Michael Logan Loness, 100% of the funds contributed will assist with transplant-related expenses now and throughout his lifetime.
